Worried
Away from home I wanted a free editor until I could get back and use Frontpage. So I downloaded BlueVoda. It seemed OK, and I knew they wanted payment before publishing, because they said so. I never intended to be fixed to any such agreement, I just wanted to get some html code. I am, though, alarmed by the negativity here, and particularly one claim that it carries an infection. Can anyone confirm or deny this. I also wonder if the program does any (other) damage. After uninstalling, I ran Regedit, and searched for "bv" and then "bluevoda". Nothing was found, so unless they used other terms, obviously, the uninstall seems OK. Pity they appear to be baddies, the program is good. How stupid of them to produce such a little gem, and then be bad hosts. They could be raking in serious money, and with a happy customer base by just giving good hosting and support service. Fools, obviously.

Blue Voda is simply the best!!
I am a non techie...I checked out loads of sites first, then my wife showed me her site built!! She had gone ahead downloaded the FREE Blue Voda website builder, practised with it and previewed it to see what it looked like offline!
So we purchased our hosting and no problems in over 5 years!
WE can only praise Blue Voda as we now have many sites built and they upgrade with new things free all the time.
If you are still thinking about it, download it for FREE...try it out use it feel it touch it, if you don't like it then you have lost nothing.
I dont normally do this but seeing a few negative reviews I cant help thinking these people would moan about anything!!
Take care
Mike

Use without Hosting Possible
Okay, first of all there is a way that you can use the excellent Drag and Drop Capability of BlueVoda without paying a penny! (Or a cent if you live in USA).
1) Create the Website.
2) Preview the Website in your Browser (using the option in Bluevoda).
3) When you do the above, and in order for it to preview, an HTML file of your newly created webpage is created in this temporary location:
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Local Settings\Temp\preview\preview.html
You can then, open the HTML file into any html editor of your choice!

Satisfied with BlueVoda so far
Satisfied with BlueVoda support and ease of use, have 2 websites running on BV. Find it quick and affordable too. Is there a similar website solution provider that is better..

I'm really mad
I am mad that they say it is free but only the download is. It is alot of money to make an account and I waisted about an hour using that until I figured out it was a fortune. Now I am using GoDaddy Site Builder it may be cheaper than Blue Voda but you have to set up a website tonight account to to make any website. There is one guy who hires people to do his videos he is a jerk and will not be nice to you.

Bypassing their restrictions is simple.
Build your page, view the HTML code, copy and paste it into notepad, save it as whatever.html
It isn''t too difficult.

Blue Voda Sitebuilder - Mixed Reviews
Pros: Easy to use, user friendly interface, lots of nice features, easy addons
Cons: Multiple software glitches, many features are very limited, poor customer service.
BV offers decent sitebuilding software, however the constant glitches, the limitations of many of the features offered and having to deal with a useless customer service department, destroyed the experience of working with this company and forced me to use other sitebuilder software and host elsewhere.
On the plus side, the sitebuilder architecture is fine; the interface is a lot like that of Microsoft Word. Text, elements, shapes, addons, add a photo, add a movie are all very easy to work with. There is a good variety of background choices and window dressing. cPanel easy to use. So far, so good.
Unfortunately, the more I worked with BV sitebuilder, the more I discovered that the many of the features were very limited or and/or did not perform correctly. Pull down menus required two or three tries to stay open; menu bars always wound up with a different size text other than the size I chose, regardless of how many times I saved my selection; navigation bar choices were limited to very old styles and in set sizes; navigation bar colors, even with editing, were very limited in range. I found that modifying or changing element colors, backgrounds involved far too many steps for simple edits.
I contacted BV customer service on several occasions regarding my issues and was given support tickets with numbers. None of the issues I ever complained of were ever resolved by BV. I even complained to them about a spelling error in one of the BV video tutorials and it was never corrected. The company claimed that it was coming out with another version of it''s sitebuilder software, but could not tell me when it would be available. BV is an ok sitebuilder at best. Be prepared to deal with glitches and poor customer service, if you opt to use BV.

The reality about BlueVoda
I used in the past Dreamweaver, Netobjects, Frontpage; etc. Bluevoda is the BEST WYSWYG web design software outhere. The problem with the hosting is very easy to fix, only copy the site contents to your hosting!!!! is free!
the MAIN BIG problem in BlueVODA is you can only design one page at the time, is not like Frontpage or Netobjects where you design the entire site and you can change a link in one section and changes in all the website.
BTW, netobjects have a free version. Try it.

Superb
I looked at Blue Voda and several other rivals about three weeks ago. I read some of the adverse reviews and was a little put-off. However, I decised to try it out for myself. I'm glad I did. This FREE software that comes with amazing free add-ons is exceptional. I have build a great site with very little knowledge - including some forms which are easier than you might expect. The support from day one has been exceptional with emails answered politely. Tutorials are exceptionally easy and where I had glitches they helped me. There is no telephone support from Voda on the webbuilder but the forums are VERY helpful and they will answer your emails with guidance where to find the info. Hosting does help with many issues and they helped with some problems. I have to say I am really delighted with the comapny and the whole operation. Certainly the end result is far far better than I achieved with the previous company and as far as I can see the other stuff on offer is inferior. You do have to host on their server but prices are more than fair.

I thought it was all free....
I haven't down loaded it yet but i am reading some comments that are saying that they had to pay something... what is up with that? I thought it was all free. That is what they advertised it to be.. I'm not going to use it just because it must have a hidden agenda to make you buy something... I wouldn't mind spending money on something if i knew up front the cost, But not when they say its all free.

Poor Customer support
Very poor customer support. After four (4) months they have yet to respond to my problems. I will advice anyone NOT to purchase from this company.
They billed my CCard twice and I have yet to get a full refund.
BlueVoda sucks !!

Blue Voda Solution
Ok, i believe that once you have made site on bluevoda you can then copy and paste the pages html into some other program that can let you change the format.

Blue Voda
Ok I read all the negative comments and decided to checkout the customer service. I sent an email from the UK late evening. A reply came early the next morning. To my follow-up I received TWO responses. withing hours. A further one came with half an hour. The free download software is excellent so far and I'm designing a couple of pages as a trial. I'll then see how the upload process works out and how the site appears. They do appear to have comprehensive tutorials and the software is the best Ive seem. The hosting fees are excellent and I don't think its unreasonable for them to demand you use their hosting services if they gave you the sofware free. I personally would not take the free webdomain they offer. I want to own that without any question. Still a way to go befor eI give them a vote of confidence but I will probbaly risk the minimum hosting deal - but I'll do it before I design too many more pages - just in case.
