DrWeb? Anti-Virus, Home Edition is customized to work on home computers, running under Windows
95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP. Dr.Web? Anti-Virus, Home Edition presents a light version of Dr.Web? Anti-Virus for Workstations package and does not require extensive computer knowledge. Basic computer skills are sufficient for you to install and start using the anti-virus package.
While changing the default configurations settings is possible, doing that is not recommended for less
experienced users. The default settings of both the on-demand and on-access scanners secure a stable and high-performance protection of your home PC. Default settings of some components of Dr.Web? Anti-Virus, Home Edition differ from the Dr.Web? Anti-Virus for Workstations package, namely:
-for scanner – in case of detection of curable viruses they will be immediately cured (in standard version a report message is displayed);
for scanner – in case of detection of incurable viruses they will be immediately placed to the quarantine folder (in standard version a report is displayed);
-for scanner – the scanning process priority increased compared to standard version (from 25 to 50);
for scanner – archives names are not written to the log (in the standard version archives names are reported);
-for scanner – packers names for checked executables are not written to the log (in standard version packers names are reported);
-for on-acces monitor - frequency of virus definition bases reloading increased by four times, i.e. the check interval of the updates receipt is reduced (from 60 minutes in standard version to 15 minutes in Home Edition).
