Cool
They seem to have uploaded a new version - looks pretty cool. There is a programming menu which I just cant figure out though.

Easy to Use
Finally a simulator that is easy to use. Modeling is really simple. Neat set of tutorials.

Nothing Great
The simulation is simple and easy to use but does not carry the depth that Opnet or Qualnet has (of course, it doesn't carry that kind of price !). The software seems well suited for diploma / under grad studies but seems to be of little use for research, which I am into.
I was more impressed by the "Basics" section, which contains hundreds of animations across a variety of protocols. Like Dan has written, the programming section is quite unique and I haven't seen that in any other S / W.

A Teachers Delight
I am really impressed with the variety that NetSim offers ranging from network basics (animations) right up to network programming. The simulation UI is simple to use (unlike Opnet / Qualnet) and brand neutral (unlike Boson NetSim). I recently bought NetSim "standard version" and has made my job much more simpler & effective. My students just love it.

NetSim 2.0 is an interesting tool.
NetSim sems to be a pretty good tool for teaching computer networks. it is quite different from the other tools like Opnet, Qualnet .. which I have used. I found the programming section particulalrly interesting.

Review of NetSim 2.0
Pros
NetSim 2.0 seems to be a great tool for teaching. Its coverage of protocol performance is simple and comprehensive. It also seems pretty useful for simulating simple networks and understanding performance.
Cons
There aren't too many features enabled in the demo version.
