Basically... it totally sucks
Thank goodness I only used the trial version and didn't pay for the retail version (v2.53) on 9/16/07.
All this program appears to do is remove all the white space from your script. It doesn't remove ANY comments (at least, not ones with // marks) -maybe it removes /* */ comments, but I didn't try. In addition to NOT removing any comments, it adds it's own shameless plug of comments at the top of your file.
It didn't rename MOST of the variables I selected for it to rename, only some of them. Tried with various settings, but it never did.
Also, it automatically re-writes the file without warning. You can easily restore it from the backup, but if you're using the file in another editor (such as Dreamweaver or jEdit), you'll suddenly get an error notifying you that the file has changed and do you wish to reload it? Make sure you create a duplicate file BEFORE you open your file in the Obfuscator.
Compared to this program, I'd rather stick with an encryptor.
I recommend looking elsewhere. ~Mike
