The download of this trial software did not work. I have a disk problem, and need data Recovery software urgently. Naturally I am unable to use the duff disk's desktop to use the internet to download the trial software, so I have to download it onto my laptop. This appears to work fine, and when it has been downloaded it runs OK on the laptop...that is, it runs it's setup program without problems, and when it is ready to run I stop it. Then it is copied to a memory stick and loaded direct onto the Desktop RUNNING WITH A SEPARATE HARD DISK WITH WIN XP. Any attempt to run this software subsequently produces a momentarily flash of a BLACK DOS screen...and nothing else, with no trace of the program in TaskManager or anywhere else. I haVE TRIED VARUIOUS DOWNLOAD SITES, AND TRIED TO COPY THE DOWNLOADED FILE DIRECT TO THE MEMORY STICK WITHOUT RUNNING IT AT AL, BUT ALWAYS IT DOES THE SAME THING. iT COULD PERHAPS BE THAT IT CAN ONLY BE RUN ON THE SAME COMPUTER THAT THE INTERNET DOWNLODS IT ON, BUT THIS IS UNLIKELY AS IT WOULD BE REALLY SILLY TO DO THIS WITH DISC RECOVERY SOFTWARE. sorry abouththe capitals my hands don't like laptop keyboards!
